PHYSIOLOGICAL EFFECTS
Astaxanthin is one of the most powerful antioxidants. It can be found from fish, shrimps and some plants. It is considered as carotenoid among e.g. betacarotene and lutein.
Antioxidants prevent damages from oxidative stress in cells caused by free radicals, which is related to ageing. Abundant physical activity, poor absorption of nutrients and poor diets, smoking and alcohol consumption increase the need of antioxidant.
Vegetable astaxanthin in AstaCaps is extracted from Heamatococcus Pluvialis Microalgae, which is cultivated in clean environment at Kona island in Hawaii in high quality, controlled sweet water ponds.
Besides it’s antioxidative power, astaxanthin has positive anti-inflammatory effects. Studies have been done that astaxanthin supplementation has an positive effect on for example rheumatoid arthritis, joints, immune system, brain and central nervous system, macular degeneration and visual acuity and internal sunscreen. Furthermore, astaxanthin enhances strength and endurance, prevents joint and muscle soreness after exercise and improves exercise recovery. Astaxanthin is also used for various skin and beauty applications.
AstaCaps capsules also contain vitamin E, which is a lipid soluble vitamin with antioxidant properties. Vitamin E protects cell membranes and polyunsaturated fatty acids from free radicals and oxidation. Rich vitamin E intake improves immune system and fertility, protects heart and brain as well as gives hair strength and shine.
